Even though we are receiving Disney tickets for this service, this experience has inspired us to add community service to our family goals of 2010. We had a great time bonding as a family as we cut and tied the blankets. There are so many opportunities to help ~ we are excited to get started!

We had a.....
BLAST making blankets as a family. The girls and I headed to Walmart to pick out the fleece. We had a lot of fun checking out the different styles, but in the end, decided on plain colors so we could make more blankets as the patterned fleece was almost twice the price per yard. Someone (cough cough Katie) couldn't go plain though.....but I love her blanket! And we stayed within our budget which is always a bonus. I hope that these get put to good use!

ReplyDeleteOh we bought material about 5 months ago! And I forgot....so thanks for reminding me to get that material out and make some blankets. we have plenty of time....we are always in a blizzard!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you all had a blast!
Where do you live Sherri? I miss the snow! It's such a rarity here. Blizzards remind me of reading Little House on the Prairie books when I was a kids.
ReplyDeleteWe did have a lot of fun making the blankets! I was surprised at what a nice blanket could be made for not much money.
