Today I was

stuck at home without a car. Jay had to drive up to Seattle for some product testing and Katie and Tyler had the other car at school. I rather enjoy these "forced" at home days. I accomplished quite a bit ~ I worked on some crafts, did tons of laundry and started watching the new Emma that aired on PBS last night. Days like these make me realize I don't need to be running around all the time....and I usually feel relaxed afterward. On a side note, I purchased a new water bottle at Costco and carried it around with me all day. My goal is to drink more water. I think having a cute water bottle makes the water taste a little sweeter. Not really, but oh well.

I wish I could've joined Jay in the Emerald City, but someone has to stay and get the kids to their various activities and I am always amazed at what I can accomplish when I have or take the time.

When I DO go to Seattle, I love to visit the wharf, the zoo and Pike's Place. I also love to visit the UW campus ~ our old stomping ground. The last time we were in Seattle, we took the kids on a tour around campus. We went into Suzzalo library which is a gorgeous, gothic building with equipped with buttresses and all. It is very Harry Potter-ish, as observed by Rachel. Here are the girls in the library with our niece Kalina.

I love living in Salem, but sometimes I miss the close proximity of things you can find to do in a big city like Seattle. And there's not much more beautiful than a sunny day in Seattle!
