This song makes me feel

fabulous!! I love "I Can See Clearly Now!" What a great message the lyrics have! And I also love the harmony ~ I'm a sucker for good harmony! Sometimes I even get goosebumps when I hear music that strikes a chord (that's the choir geek in me and no pun intended)

I can see clearly now, the rain is gone,
I can see all obstacles in my way
Gone are the dark clouds that had me blind
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

I think I can make it now, the pain is gone
All of the bad feelings have disappeared
Here is the rainbow I've been prayin' for
It's gonna be a bright (bright), bright (bright)
Sun-Shiny day.

Look all around, there's nothin but blue skies
Look straight ahead, nothin but blue skies

This song just makes me happy for several reasons. I love how I feel after a great rain when the sun breaks through the clouds. It reminds me that over time and contemplation, bad feelings can be worked through. I also love the line about seeing our obstacles, knowing what they are and tackling them. How funny that a song from the 70s could strengthen my testimony ~ I know that I can handle any obstacles placed in front of me, big or small, because Heavenly Father knows I can handle them.

I originally downloaded it as part of a playlist for our Relief Society PJS party. I compiled a list of songs that the women in our ward would've listened to as teenagers ~ so I have downloaded music from the 50s, 60s, 70s, 90s (I already had lots of 80s stuff) and a few from the 2000s. I love the entire play list but "I Can See Clearly Now" gets played a little more than average. When you find something that you like, it's hard not to play it frequently!

Thank you Johnny Nash ~ your song inspires and uplifts me!
