Whenever it rains, I'm reminded of

a song my mom used to play when I was little. She loved Neil Sedaka. I grew up hearing "Laughter in the Rain" played quite frequently on the record player. Neil Sedaka makes "walking in the rain hand in hand with the one you love" sound very romantic, but after living in rainy areas since we've been married, (Seattle and Salem) I don't think of rain as anything remotely romantic. It messes up my hair and soaks my clothes and makes putting groceries in your trunk a truly fun experience, among other things.

Maybe I'll have to take a walk on a rainy day with Jay sometime, walking hand in hand and see if good ol' Neil was right.......

  1. Have you ever heard, "I love the rainy nights?" I always think of that song, I did a cute dance routine with 2 of my sisters in it when I was a really little kid. We even had umbrellas, you know, the clear plastic kind. I downloaded it from itunes years ago so I can put it on for my kids sometimes when it rains.
