After working on the cricut all last week in preperation for our church meeting, Pam Chancellor and I decided that while we enjoyed cutting out the super cute bees for the decor, we didn't really get a chance to explore everything else that the Create a Critter cartridge was capable of doing. So, we made plans to do just that this week. As we are both home during the day with all our kids in school, we have several hours to play around with the cricut. When we'd gone shopping for decor supplies for church, we'd spied these frames and thought they would be fun to decorate.......
What started out as a test project for a future RS Craft night became a much bigger production. And wow were we ever right ~ we had so much fun! Here are the products of our labor.....

The "Birthday" frame......

The "Disney" frame......

The "Zoo-rific" frame.......

The "Life's a Beach" frame.......

After we worked on these, we thought to ourselves "Hmmmm......I wonder if people would buy these." We started toying with the idea of selling them. So....what do you guys think? And you can be honest.
Regardless of the outcome, we sure had fun and have plans and ideas for more frames.....i.e. new baby frames, cowboys and Indians (ahem....Native Americans), dinosaur, graduation.....the list is endless. There are so many possibilities ~ seeing a project go from imagination to fruition is very satisfying!
Those are SO cute!! I'm loving the Zoo-rific one! I think people would buy them. (but you wouldn't be able to sell the Hello Kitty one since there are copyright issues there :-) lol)
ReplyDeleteThose are cute. I think if you put some Mod Podge on them to seal them, they would be even better. I think you could sell them, but I would be more likely (if I were you) to give them as gifts. Wedding, baby, birthdays, etc. Your girls could even make their own for their friends with a picture of them with the birthday girl in it.
ReplyDeleteI've never played with Mod Podge before.....thanks for the tip! And yes, I'd also give it as a gift, and have the girls give them as gifts, but I'd buy something like that if I sold it so maybe.....
ReplyDeleteWe started out making them to see if it was a quick enough project to do at our RS Craft night in October (yes, we're planning ahead) and had so much fun we just kept thinking of all the possibilities.
I mean, I'd buy something like that if I saw it on someone else's shop...
ReplyDeleteyes they are wonderful!!! These would so much fun to make!
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking that a spray sealant might work even better than Mod podge.
ReplyDeleteMOD PODGE ROCKS! I have a bunch if you want to experiment sometime. OK, I would like to buy a few. I want a bunny one and a superhero one, like you guys could put Pow, Bam, following me? Let me know what you can do and I'll buy them from you.
ReplyDeleteThat'd be awesome Becca and yes on the bunny and the superhero!
ReplyDeleteThese are really fun! It looks like you had a great time creating.
ReplyDeleteThese are super cute!
ReplyDeleteThose are adorable!! I think you should set up and Etsy shop for sure!!
