After 17 years
we FINALLY made it over to Sunriver..... We'd been to Bend and Eagle Crest, but had never stayed in Sunriver. We had such a great time ~ what a fun little place! We started out at Carino's for dinner after the long drive. I was mentally berating myself because after days of reminding myself to charge and bring my big camera, I forgot it at home. So....thank goodness for a camera phone, but I missed my Nikon!
We found some Saxon colored pop.....couldn't resist taking a pic!
The next day, we headed to Mt. Bachelor......what cute snow bunnies!
Here's me after my class.....Rachel and I both started in Level 1. Rachel was moved to Level 2. I was not. I was so nervous. My brain does not process things that require coordination very well, but I eventually got the hang of stopping.....after crashing twice into really deep snow, being told by the instructor to "put the pole into the dimple to release your boot." Sorry...I don't speak "ski." Even though I was nervous and tired, I had fun and I'd try it again.....probably
Rachel and I got to hang out in the lodge after lunch while everyone else went back out and snowboarded. The nice daycare facility let us borrow some color books for Rachel to pass the time.
Anna joined us so Tyler and Jay could head up onto more difficult runs. Anna was in a weird mood.....
We relaxed the next day.....lots of hot tub and lots of Rummikub.
Rachel amused herself while waiting for Tyler to make his play in the game.....
So did Anna and I......
We went for a long walk around Sunriver.....it was so cold. We felt like we were back in Sweden.
The kids could not get enough of Rummikub....it was a vacation addiction
A crazy vacation addiction.....
a REALLY crazy vacation addiction! Whoomp there it is!
We enjoyed the big swim facility in Bend as well.
And the toy store in Bend's Old Mill district....
