describe the things my Grandma Fay liked to collect. She had fun knick knacks all over her house. Each one had a special, funny and/or interesting story to go along with it. Hundreds of perfect sand dollars, little tiny ceramics, the coolest necklaces, and much more.
Meet the "Jello" rock ~ this sat on my Grandma's porch for about as long as I can remember.

This "rock" is not really a rock, but a lot of glass that was super heated in an explosion and as it cooled, it formed the air bubbles that look like marshmellows. We passed this jello rock every time we entered my Grandma's house.
After she passed away, my Dad asked me if I'd like to have it and I excitedly said "Yes!" He brought it down at Christmas. It's been quite the conversation starter this week, with friends and piano students coming and going. I love having it on my porch ~ a fun reminder of my Grandma!
That is an awesome conversation starter! Too bad it has so many fond memories or it'd be the desired white elephant gift, wouldn't it?
ReplyDeleteWhat a great reminder of your grandma!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool!!!
ReplyDeleteIf it didn't have a special meaning and weigh over 90 lbs, then it'd be a funny white elephant gift. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThat is so totally cool. I love that you have it on your front porch now - and that you can think about your Grandma every time you pass it!
