We had such a fun time celebrating Katie's graduation with family and friends! Thanks to everyone who has been an influential part of Katie's life. We sure love and appreciate you!
We moved to good ol' Salem in June 1994 when Katie was 2. I can't believe we've lived here that long as I've never before lived anywhere in my life longer than 5 years. We have come in contact with so many great and wonderful people during these last 16 years ~ nursery leaders, primary teachers, activity day leaders, YW leaders, friends, neighbors and the list could go on.
Moving to Salem was sort of a fluke.....Jay had applied and gotten into the Law School at Lewis and Clark in Portland. We were planning on driving down from Seattle to Portland to look for apartments one weekend when Jay received a call for a second interview at Supra. We figured since we were already down this way that he should at least check it out. They ended up offering Jay the job and the rest is history.
Fast forward (and it truly feels like life has been fast-forwarded) 16 years and now we are the proud parents of a 2010 South Salem High School graduate heading off to BYU in the fall. Surely I'm not old enough for this to be taking place. (I guess I am....and don't call me Shirley).
Thank you all for your support and influence on my daughter ~ we very much appreciate all of your wonderful examples!!
Yay for Katie!! Glad the celebration was fun!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for Katie. Sorry we missed the open house. We were dealing w a kid who may or may/not have fractured her wrist.
ReplyDeleteThat's okay ~ are they alright?
ReplyDeleteKim, thanks for moving to Salem. You have brought a bright loving star into many lives, including mine. Love you cousin.
