The GREAT Rachel TEETH adventure.....

At our last orthodontist consultation, Dr. Amborn decided that Rachel's permanent teeth didn't have enough room to come in. His solution to this problem was to have two of Rachel's baby teeth (the top eye teeth) pulled out to avoid an overcrowded mouth....

Before the "BIG EVENT" (and I call it this because Rachel counted down to it like it was Christmas), Rachel and I went to Applebee's for lunch. Here she is showing me her teeth that are to be pulled.....
The all-important shades......
My poor, numb little girl.....she inherited my gene for "I need twice as much Novocain as normal people do to be completely numb." This picture reminds me of the Scarlet Pimpernel....can you Pimpernel aficionados guess why?
Rachel is still slightly "out of it," but wanted me to document her incisors.
Waiting for the Tylenol 3 prescription.....
Tylenol 3 acquired and taken.....can you tell which side required the double dose of Novocain?
The smile is still a work in progress.....
I need to take an after picture now and post Rachel and her new mouth holes, which are healing up quite nicely. She loves that she can fit two straws into her mouth at one time and that she has to nibble apples like a squirrel.

  1. I want to see a photo of Rachel with 2 straws in her mouth! I hope she recovers quickly. Liz keeps asking for Rachel to come over some time. Maybe when the weather clears a bit or when school ends we can get them together.

  4. Bless her heart! When I was about her age, I had shark teeth. My teeth were going in the far back of my mouth for the same reason! Everyone thought I would spend my whole life in braces. They pulled a ton of teeth..and guess what...NO BRACES for me!

By the way..I would love your indoor smores recipe!
