You know that

Viking ship from that Visa commercial about two men researching family history and thinking they are from Norway, only to find they are actually Swedish? Well, we love that commercial because we have actually seen the ship and it is amazing! After looking through all my Shutterfly albums yesterday on our European adventures, I realized that I could actually copy and paste pics off of Shutterfly. I didn't know I could do that. I've wanted before to do the occasional "blast from the past" Sweden post and now I actually can ~ yay!

This ship was used for a Viking burial. Everything this particular Viking ruler had owned was buried with him, including his dog and horse. The entire museum is fascinating. To read a little more about it, click here. Oslo was/is a beautiful city that sits on the end of a huge fjord. It was colder than Stockholm, but not as cold as Helsinki. I'd love to go back again someday!!

  3. I love places like that... enjoying the sights and scenery - but also learning some of the historical facts. Way cool!
